Background
Growing up in a Lebanese village in the 1980s, I thrived while exploring open fields that were a part of our family heritage for centuries.
Our land was well-cultivated, sowed, and abundant with aromatic teas, herbs, flower petals, and olive fruits - known as ‘Zaytoon’ in Arabic.
The olive branch is a symbol of liberation, rebirth, renewal, and above all, peace. In Lebanon, the climate and soil are famous for producing some of the finest and highest-quality olive oils in the world.
My grandparents and their children carefully picked and cold-pressed their abundant olive tree fruits using a steel press to procure re-refined carrier oils. Throughout our village teas, herbs, and flower petals were hand-picked and dried under the sun. The natural plants were infused in a cool, dark place for several weeks to make precious essential oils.
Owing to this rich heritage, I developed a genuine passion for unique carrier and essential oils. This led me to pursue an introductory course with Open Colleges Australia, studying Beauty Therapy in 2017.
Building on my beauty therapy studies and years of tradition and experience, I was inspired to write this book about the natural goodness in hair infusions and skin care, covering skin texture, appearance, and skin matters.
In time, I hope that you too will come to truly love nature, and that you come to find that beauty is all around.
